Where has the time gone?

I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone by!  Only 20 more days until my due date.  The nursery is 99% done (I'll post pictures after this weekend when it's 100% done!) so I'm finally getting to the stage where I'm starting to feel anxious, in a good way, for him to get here.  I was doing his laundry the other day and when I put the last little outfit away I had this overwhelming feeling of wanting him to be here so I could put him in his clothes and use all the wonderful things that we got at our showers!  My last day of work is tomorrow, which is also surreal, and then I will shift into super countdown mode when I don't have that taking up 10 hours of my day!!

What? How does that fit in there?

Weeks 33-36 (Month 8): Honeydew

Baby’s senses are continuing to improve -- when light peeks in through your (extremely) stretched belly, those tiny eyelids and irises blink and dilate. And, baby can now recognize and react to simple songs… time to start practicing your lullabies! Growth (at least inside your womb) is starting to slow, and you may notice baby descend into your pelvis at the end of this month.

I'm not spoiled, just well taken care of :-)

On Sunday I got a wonderful surprise when I found out that a BBQ we were planning to attend for new members at church was actually a surprise shower!  Our pastor's wife is due about 5 weeks after us, so our wonderful husbands cooked up the idea a shower for us.  Pastor John apparently can't keep a secret, because Shawnda knew about it the whole time, but I was thoroughly surprised.  I will admit that Jason told me the night before, but only because I wasn't feeling well and he was afraid I would try to bail on the "bbq".  :-)  It was absolutely beautiful!  Some new members at our church actually did host the shower at their beautiful house in Livermore.  There were lots of people from church there and it was so fun to share the shower with another mommy-to-be.  We had two adorable little cakes and cupcakes and with baby footprints on them.  We definitely got spoiled with gifts.  Jason and I received a very special gift from one church member.  It's a gorgeous quilt that she started working on the second we announced we were expecting!  She said she's been waiting for it!  It was a beautiful day with our second family and we couldn't feel more blessed with the lives that we have.  We are so excited for our little one to join us and make use of all the goodies we have waiting for him!

So lucky

On Saturday my best friend Sarah thew me any AMAZING baby shower with some help from my sister-in-law, mother-in-law, mom and others!  I am so lucky to have so many amazing women in my life who are so willing to come out and not only celebrate with me, but help with the festivities.  Sarah got there early and we set out tables and and decorations, with some help from Jason :-)  Thanks babe!  Everything was absolutely beautiful and Sarah did an awesome job with the goodies.  Everyone kept saying that the cookies and cupcakes looked professionally done.  I would have to agree!  Not only that, but they tasted delicious.  My friend Miranda also made her delectable pretzel rods which were to die for!  I had so much fun seeing friends and family that I haven't seen in awhile.  Missy flew all the way from Houston and it was so much fun to see her and be able to spend some time.  Parker and Elle also got a treat with a visit from their cousins Joe Gibbs and Taco, although Dad had to take Joe Gibbs with him since he was being a bit of a baby when we put them all in the bedroom together :-)  We were extremely spoiled with all of the gifts that we got.  Grandmommy sent us several that I was able to open at the shower and under strict instructions I also waited to open Cissy's at the shower :-)  All in all, it was a beautiful day with beautiful people and I felt truly blessed.
